The Garfield – the staircase
The hardest part of the house is the staircase. There are two sets and landings. I didn’t want to use the original staircase which came with the kit. I feel comfortable working with wood and I wanted to create a solid wood staircase, handrail and all.

Hi Fatima! I agree with you that the hardest part of the house IS the staircase. Yours is a doozie! I Applaud you for being willing and patient enough to tackle the staircase from scratch and knowing what a perfectionist you are, I am not in the least surprised. I know from chatting with you that this Perfectionism in you has caused you to dismantle the spindles and the handrail and begin them all again. WOW! The things one does for ones Art!

Not sure about patient but I’m willing to always try and make it better. No regrets later. And yes, one does do silly things for their craft…like driving back and forth to Seattle on the same day just to be in the same room as other miniaturists.
